“I work for you”, is Heather Jackson’s mantra. This desire has led her to top places like CNN, the White House, and being the founding president of NABJ-ASU(National Association of Black Journalists) to make sure she is well-rounded in serving her news audience.
She sharpened her reporting and anchoring skills interning at ABC 15 News, Phxsoul.com by launching the first video reporting portion to this Black community website, PBS Eight helping cover 2010 Election coverage, and anchoring and reporting for a student produced newscasts for NBC 7/39 San Diego that aired live on their programming.
A woman of many hats, she also has experience line-producing and taking social media for news mediums to the next level. As a CNN intern she spearheaded “Behind the Scenes with Fredricka Whitfield”. This short was a glimpse into the behind the scenes of the anchor’s duties and show lineup. She saw the need for audience engagement and helped reform the social media platform. She is back this summer with CNN Digital PR team because to her social media is the optimal gate to engagement, immediate information, and transparency.
She began her career in High School by launching the first broadcast news section to her school, won best broadcast news segment award, and went on to NBC 7/30 in San Diego to intern for her Junior year summer.
